Saturday evening - Olympia - sign up now for a dance slot!!
Andrea of Wild Honey Tribal Belly Dance and Kashani of Mas Uda
are co-hosting a hafla to raise funds for the Eagles Save our
Building Fund. Hafla will take place on the top floor of the
Eagles building. All proceeds from the hafla will go to the
Eagles building fund. Help save and restore this old building
that has been such a huge part of downtown Olympia for so long!!
Date - Saturday Sep 13
Time - 7:00 until 9:00 or 10:00 (will depend on sign ups for the
hafla slots)
Cost - suggested donation is $5-10 per person (including dancers)
- if you are able to give more that’s wonderful!
Location - the upstairs dance room of the Eagles Building,
located at 805 4th Avenue East, Olympia WA 98506
The room is fairly small, so this event is designed to be an
informal and ‘low key’ hafla. The ’stage’ area will be somewhat
small also and will be on the same level as the audience. The
event will sell out. Spacing will be VERY tight if you are a
large troupe. We have in mind doing this event somewhat
regularly and will be in a larger venue next time, so please
bear with the space constraints this first time around.
The beneficiary of the event is the Eagles Save Our Building
Fund - the building needs a fair amount of work and, of course,
everything is costing more, so please come out and support us
in attempts to revitalize this landmark building.
Elizabeth Mahina of She’enedra Tribal (Los Angeles) will be the
final dancer of the evening. Kashani is sponsoring Elizabeth
in workshop on Sun Sep 14 and she will dance at Great Cuisine of
India on Sunday evening - contact Kashani for more info.
